Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (“iED”) and each Member that provides courses through the CYBER SAFE SENIOR | Learning Platform care about the confidentiality and security of your information. This Privacy Policy applies to information that CYBER SAFE SENIOR collects through the CYBER SAFE SENIOR when you interact with CYBER SAFE SENIOR, with Members, with other users, and generally with the CYBER SAFE SENIOR. Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (“iED”) as the sole controller of data process in CYBER SAFE SENIOR implements the appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure conformity with Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

Your information is received and controlled by CYBER SAFE SENIOR according to this Privacy Policy when you sign up for a CYBER SAFE SENIOR account or otherwise use the CYBER SAFE SENIOR.

CYBER SAFE SENIOR is solely and independently responsible for its own privacy practices. No Member is responsible for CYBER SAFE SENIOR’s privacy practices.

If you enroll in a course offered by a Member through the CYBER SAFE SENIOR, information about you and your activity in the course is received and controlled also by that Member as described in this Privacy Policy.

Each Member is solely and independently responsible for its own privacy practices. No Member is responsible for another Member’s privacy practices. Also, CYBER SAFE SENIOR is not responsible for any Member’s privacy practices.

If you do not accept the terms of this Privacy Policy, then please do not access, browse, or register for the CYBER SAFE SENIOR or enroll in any courses. If you choose not to provide certain information required to provide you with various products and services offered on the CYBER SAFE SENIOR, then you may not be able to establish a user account or obtain those products or services.

Any version of this Privacy Policy in a language other than English is provided for convenience and you understand and agree that the English language version will control if there is any conflict.

INFORMATION THAT CYBER SAFE SENIOR COLLECTS FROM YOU (INCLUDING PERSONAL INFORMATION)

CYBER SAFE SENIOR directly collects information when you:

  • sign up for a CYBER SAFE SENIOR user account and create a CYBER SAFE SENIOR user profile;

  • enroll and participate in online courses;

  • purchase a product or service (for example, Verified Certificates);

  • send email messages to CYBER SAFE SENIOR (including messages to learner support); and

  • participate in user surveys;

  • participate in public forums, webinars, and other interactive experiences on the CYBER SAFE SENIOR.

CYBER SAFE SENIOR also indirectly collects usage information about your visit to the CYBER SAFE SENIOR (https://platform.cybersafesenior.eu/

), as explained in the section below titled Cookies and Tracking Technologies.

CYBER SAFE SENIOR does not itself collect or store financial account numbers or identification issued by a governmental entity, employer, or other authority. Instead, if you choose to make a purchase on the CYBER SAFE SENIOR (https://platform.cybersafesenior.eu/

), for example a Verified Certificate, you will be directed to CYBER SAFE SENIOR’s third-party payment processor and CYBER SAFE SENIOR’s third-party ID verification service provider. If you do not wish to submit the required authentication or payment information, then you will not be able to obtain a certificate via the CYBER SAFE SENIOR (https://platform.cybersafesenior.eu/

).

CYBER SAFE SENIOR requires your Personal Information only in limited circumstances when you:

  • sign up for a CYBER SAFE SENIOR user account (name, username, email address);

  • purchase a Verified Certificate (so that CYBER SAFE SENIOR’s third-party vendor can authenticate your identity) or other product/service;

  • participate in remote proctoring or other course facilitation processes; or

  • earn a Verified Certificate.

To the extent that CYBER SAFE SENIOR associates the information it collects directly or indirectly with an individual, the association is based on Personal Information in your profile.

You may voluntarily choose to share additional Personal Information on the CYBER SAFE SENIOR, for example in your profile, financial assistance applications, or course participation.

CYBER SAFE SENIOR encourages discretion when sharing Personal Information. If you later delete your account, removal is subject to the process described below.

Members do not receive your Personal Information unless you enroll in a course. If enrolled, the Member receives Personal Information from your CYBER SAFE SENIOR profile plus information CYBER SAFE SENIOR collects about your activity and performance.

COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES ON THE CYBER SAFE SENIOR

CYBER SAFE SENIOR uses Cookies and other tracking technologies on the platform (https://platform.cybersafesenior.eu/

) and in email communications to understand usage and improve services. Examples include:

  • tracking pages visited and interactions

  • logging IP address, operating system, browser

  • tracking email opens and link clicks

CYBER SAFE SENIOR partners with third parties to understand activity, referrals, and interactions.

CYBER SAFE SENIOR and Members use cookies for:

  • system administration and security

  • analytics and performance

  • marketing and interest-based content delivery

You may manage cookies through browser settings or third-party opt-out processes.

HOW YOUR INFORMATION IS USED

CYBER SAFE SENIOR and Members use information to:

  • operate and improve CYBER SAFE SENIOR

  • create, administer, and teach courses

  • offer products and services

  • maintain security

  • communicate with you

  • support research

  • track usage

  • meet legal obligations

Additional uses require your consent.

HOW YOUR INFORMATION IS SHARED

CYBER SAFE SENIOR and Members may share information with:

  • service providers

  • other learners

  • sponsors (e.g., employers)

  • affiliates or successors

  • third parties (de-identified or aggregated only)

HOW TO MANAGE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You may manage your Personal Information through CYBER SAFE SENIOR features or learner support. Members handle information in their courses.

You may:

  • access and correct information

  • restrict processing

  • delete your account

Some exceptions apply, such as legal obligations and research data retention.

STORAGE & SECURITY

CYBER SAFE SENIOR stores information on its servers and those of service providers. Members may store data separately.

CYBER SAFE SENIOR uses administrative, physical, and technical safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security.

In the event of a breach, CYBER SAFE SENIOR may notify you electronically.

PRIVACY POLICY UPDATES

This Privacy Policy may be updated. Continued use of the CYBER SAFE SENIOR indicates acceptance of changes.
